Pitch

  • Catchphrase
      • Master the elements!
  • Pitch
      • Create your own deck, collect and upgrade your cards. Each card represents a monster with which you can smite your enemy. Choose your own play style by combining elements and their unique abilities.
  • Description
    • This is a card game for mobile platforms in which the player can collect, upgrade and play with the cards they’ve gathered. Players start out with a minimal collection of cards in their inventory, but as they play they can upgrade their old cards and find new ones to add to their collection. Build your own deck, test its power against a fellow player or AI-opponent and show everyone that you’re the best!

      • A match length is around 5 minutes.
      • Which is 9 turns.
  • Goal
      • Defeat the opposing player or AI by bringing his health down
      • A player loses if by the end of the turn they don’t have any health left.
      • If both players lose in the same turn; then there is a tie.
  • Singleplayer
      • The player is put against an AI
  • Multiplayer
    • The player is put against another player

Progression

  • Tiers
      • Each card has a tier, with tier 1 the weakest, and tier 3 the strongest.
      • Tiers are used for merging and upgrading cards.
      • The first tier is split up into 2 branches
      • The second tiers are simply upgraded to tier 3
  • Rarity
      • Each card has a rarity, with higher rarities being stronger than lower.
      • Rarer cards have a lower drop rate
      • The lowest rarity is common, then rare, then godly.
  • Bounties
      • The player has Bounties, which are quests they must complete in order to receive new cards. Once a bounty is completed, players can claim their reward and the bounty will disappear.
      • Bounties stay until completed
      • But can only get 5 bounties each day
      • Bounties reward the player tier 1 cards of any rarity.
      • You only have a limited number of bounties each day
      • So you can only get a limited number of cards each day
      • Bounties are the only way to progress
      • 5 bounties each day
      • Bounty Examples
        • Win a multiplayer match.
        • Deal one damage instance of 20 or higher.
        • Upgrade a card to tier 3
        • Win a match with no earth cards
        • Win a match without healing
  • Merge
      • By selecting a tier 1 card, you can then merge it with another card that came from the same tier 1 card.
      • So the first card is destroyed, while the other one becomes one tier higher.
      • Logically a tier 3 card can’t be upgraded.
      • When a tier 1 is merged with a tier 1, you can choose between 2 different tier 2 cards.
  • Collect
      • So by collecting cards, you can merge cards with the same tier 1 together.
      • This way you can get more powerfull cards
  • Deck Building
    • You can make multiple decks of 24 cards or less
    • Random cards are added until you have a total deck size of 36

Card Mechanics

  • Elements
      • Each card has an element.
      • Each element has its own typical mechanics and playstyle
      • Each specific element counters another specific element.
      • Both first cards and both second cards are put up against one of another. They apply their elemental counter on each other if able.
      • If a counter happens, the victim card is completely negated, its effect does not resolve. And it is discarded.
  • The Elements
      • Void
      • Earth
      • Fire
      • Air
      • Water
      • Spirit
  • Damage & Block
      • Damage and block have multiple damage instances
      • So a 5 times 1 block only blocks 1 damage from a 1 time 8 damage
      • Or a 1 time 5 block only blocks 1 damage from a 8 time 1 damage
  • Abilities
  • Base Stats
    • Damage
      • Damage that is dealt is stacked
      • After the 9 turns, the player loses with the most damage on him/her
      • If both players have the same damage on them, then it is a tie.
    • Deck
      • Your deck size is 36
      • This consists of a maximum of 24 chosen cards
      • And a minimum of 12 random cards
      • You can only have the same card twice in your deck
    • Discarded Pile
      • During combat, your discarded cards are put in here

Combat

  • Game start
    • Players enter the arena scene with their chosen deck face-down.
    • Combat happens round-based, in which players play their cards simultaneously.
  • Round overview
    • Players draw 4 cards and put them into their hand. The elements of the cards in the enemy’s hand is visible to the player.
    • Players choose the first card they want to play from their hand.
    • Both cards are displayed on the arena and are visible to both players.
    • Players choose the second card they want to play from their hand.
    • Both cards are displayed on the arena and are visible to both players.
    • Remaining cards in both players their hands are discarded.
    • Cards are checked if their opposing card counters them. If it does, the victim card is negated.
    • Effects of cards resolve. Health increase and decrease of both players is calculated and applied.
    • Played cards are put on the discard pile.
    • Round ends. New round starts
  • End of match
    • A match ends after 9 turns, the player with most damage on him/her loses
  • Balancing
      • Point System
  • AI
      • First we add an AI that simply plays cards.
      • Then we give the AI ability to play depending on which elements you have
      • Then we can keep more to the AI, so it can play more cleverly
